Mr. Thomas Noga |
The SMAC Program (Simulation Model of
Automobile Collisions) was originally developed
for the DOT. CHI successfully undertook the task
of reducing the computer time and costs by over
50%. The revised program known as CHI-SMAC,
proved to be numerically stable and accurate.

Mr. Morton Oskard |
The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) has
sponsored many projects in an effort to simulate
vehicles and interaction with payments and roads-
side appurtenances. In an effort to optimize, up date,
and maintain the computer program, the FHWA has
sponsored a 14 months project with CHI. CHI’s task
is to study the errors, limitations, and other
shortcomings of these programs as well as to serve
as an advisor to the present and potential users of
these programs throughout the world.
